To the beginning of 1960th years there was a need for more universal system of ZIP codes. On July, 1st, 1963 such new system has been accepted in a test mode in all territory of the USA. The "Father" of ZIP codes is Robert Moon, the worker of post department. Moon has offered new system of indexes in 1944 when he worked as the post inspector.Government agencies of the USA have the separate five-digits and nine-digits ZIP codes which are not providing other users of post services in a post zone with the given index.Many gasoline pumps that offer "pay at the pump" require credit card customers to enter the ZIP code of their billing address as a form of added security.ZIP Codes are inherently discrete data, or point based data, as they are assigned only at the point of delivery, not the spaces in between the delivery points.
